Artificial intelligence: more commonly known as AI. It’s a hot topic these days and there are many wild rumors going around of what AI can actually do. To help clear up the questions about this topic I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite AI resources for artists and creators. Using these tools you can do so many things. From writing a letter to creating and generating unique artwork. Even music and animations are able to be generated using AI.
Despite the name, AI is not actually intelligent. For example the AI generated image below shows a fierce Amazon Warrior riding a white tiger. However it might surprise you to know that the text prompt that created this artwork specified riding a top a panther, not a tiger. So while this technology is amazing it is not flawless and it is not a replacement for true human artistic creation.
AI technology still cannot do anything by itself. It does require human interactions and creativity to produce AI artistic creations such as music art and more. The AI program has been trained for years and years with all of the data from the entire internet that allows it to basically know how to fit things together based on words that you enter into a text input.
Let’s begin the list with one of my favorite things the AI can do: generating images. As I mentioned before, most artificial intelligence creations are begun using a text-based input. Here is an image based on the input of “dog and cat playing cards in a cafe“. I absolutely love this piece of art! To me, this is a masterpiece, worthy of a large printout to go on my wall. Fortunately most of these sites allow you to easily order prints from your newly created art.

And for the more serious users they have the professional plan at a low monthly rate as well.

FOTOR is another really great tool for artists on the go. It’s cloud-based suite of photo editing tools promises that you will experience effortless photo editing with their online free photo editor. edit enhance and create beautiful images online instantly. you can create a design, make a collage, enhance a photo, remove backgrounds, and now with their exciting new AI image generator you can input text to generate an image or even generate an AI image from an existing image that you specify. this tool is very powerful so of course has limited free features but it’s very worth the small monthly fee you would pay to be able to use it’s cloud-based service from any device without messing about installations and downloads and configuration and file permissions. (Obviously I’m a jaded veteran tech support person who is so glad for these wonderful days of cloud-based services)
